CLASS DAY: In Speech to Grads, HMS Dean Urges Openness to Change, Readiness for
Action
Culminating his first year as HMS dean, Jeffrey Flier delivered the keynote address
at commencement, telling the graduating students that “passion and idealism
alone do not change the world. Rather, it is what you will do as physicians,
scientists, policymakers, academic leaders, entrepreneurs, writers, or even artists
that will have the greatest impact.” |
HSPH:
Voices Rise for World Health
HSPH dean Barry Bloom, in his final graduation ceremony before stepping
down as dean, placed the mantle of responsibility on the degree recipients. “As
we consider the global reach of this institution,” he said, “we
turn to today’s graduates, your colleagues, as the next generation
of public health leaders.” |
